Sealants

Regularly brushing and flossing are great habits to maintain clean and healthy teeth, but even these oral hygiene techniques leave traces of food and plaque behind, especially in the tricky grooves and depressions of the back molars. Dental sealants offer an extra level of protection and are conducted by applying a thin coating to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars and premolars). Dental sealants fill in the grooves of the teeth, forming a protective barrier between the teeth and harmful plaque and food debris. At our clinic, we highly recommend dental sealants for adolescents who are at a higher risk for cavities than adults. This simple and cost effective solution reduces the number of fillings and major dental procedures in the future.
