As a Kildonan Park parent, how do I even start?+
Phone (204) 338-3003 or complete the form on this page with your child’s age. The clinic will contact you to organize a visit at our McPhillips Street location.
What age should my child start seeing a dentist?+
The Canadian Dental Association suggests an assessment within six months of the first tooth or by age one. If your child is past that, you can still come in now.
Why go when my child’s teeth don’t hurt?+
Prevention is the main reason. A visit can pick up on issues before they’re painful, and it gives you practical guidance on brushing and diet for your child’s age.
I’ve never been comfortable at the dentist. Will that affect my child?+
It doesn’t have to. Try to stay calm and matter-of-fact beforehand, avoid sharing difficult dental stories, and tell us what you’re feeling so we can help where possible.
Will I be embarrassed if I don’t know the proper way to brush a child’s teeth?+
Please don’t worry about that. Showing caregivers age-appropriate technique, toothpaste amounts and supervision is an ordinary part of what children’s visits are for.
What counts as urgent for a child’s teeth?+
Phone us about pain, swelling, a broken tooth or an injury; those shouldn’t wait on the form. Serious facial injury, unconsciousness, unstoppable bleeding or laboured breathing need emergency medical care first.
