Invisalign for Linden Woods Residents

Many people who ask about aligners are also thinking about shade. Linden Woods residents can see what trays change, what they leave alone, and why the order of cosmetic steps is worth asking about.

Two different goals

Position and Colour Are Separate Questions

Invisalign moves teeth. It doesn’t change their colour, their surface or their shape. If part of what bothers you is shade, that’s a different concern with different options, and it helps to keep the two apart when you talk about what you want.

Once teeth are aligned, some people consider whitening, bonding or minor reshaping to refine the result. Linden Woods residents can discuss the whole picture, including what should come first, at an assessment at our McPhillips Street clinic in Winnipeg.

Trays move teeth

Aligners change position, not shade or surface.

Order can matter

Ask your dentist how alignment and cosmetic steps should be sequenced.

Shape is its own topic

Bonding or reshaping may be considered once teeth are in place.

Where trays fit

What alignment can and can’t change.

Thinking of each concern separately helps you see which treatment is meant to address it. Your dentist decides what suits you after an examination.

Within an aligner plan

These are the kinds of concerns trays can work on, when your case suits them.

  • Teeth that overlap, crowd or sit rotated.
  • Spaces between teeth that could be closed.
  • Selected bite issues such as overbite or crossbite.
  • Teeth that drifted after earlier orthodontic care.

Outside an aligner plan

These concerns aren’t changed by moving teeth, though alignment may affect how they’re approached afterward.

  • The overall shade of your teeth.
  • Chips, worn edges or uneven contours.
  • Surface marks or patches of different colour.
  • Teeth that look small or oddly shaped.

Tooth-coloured attachments may be bonded during treatment to help trays grip. Ask how they’d be matched and what happens to them when movement is complete.

Planning ahead

How the aligner stage runs.

Whatever comes afterward, the alignment part of treatment follows a consistent pattern.

  1. 01

    Assessment

Your teeth, gums, bite and jaw relationships are reviewed with photographs and appropriate X-rays. Mention any colour or shape concerns here too.

  2. 02

    Planning

Your dentist sets out where each tooth will move, how space will be made, and whether attachments or elastics are needed.

  3. 03

    Fitting

The first trays are checked, any attachments are placed, and you learn to remove, clean and reinsert them.

  4. 04

    Monitoring

Progress is compared with the plan, and a tray that stops fitting properly is dealt with before you continue.

Define the wish list

Separate what you’d like changed.

Before your visit, think about which concerns are about position and which are about colour or shape. It makes the conversation clearer.

You don’t have to know which treatment fits which concern. Describing what you see in the mirror is enough.

Sort into groups

  • Teeth that look out of line, crowded or gapped.
  • Teeth you’d like brighter or more even in colour.
  • Edges or shapes you’d like smoothed or refined.
  • Your general health and any medicines you use.

The whole smile

Talk about all of it at once.

It’s fine to raise several cosmetic wishes together. Your dentist can explain which might be addressed by aligners and which belong to another kind of care.

Ask about sequence

Find out whether any cosmetic step would sensibly wait until alignment is done.

Ask about attachments

Ask how tooth-coloured attachments would look against your own teeth.

Ask about restraint

You might find alignment alone meets most of your goal.

After movement stops

Holding the alignment you gained.

Any cosmetic plans after aligners depend on teeth staying where they were moved. That’s what retention is for.

01

Retainers

Wear retainers as prescribed. Teeth can continue shifting throughout life, and retention helps limit that.

02

Refinements first

If some movements are incomplete, refinement aligners may be ordered from new records before any finishing work is discussed.

03

Fit concerns

If a tray no longer fits as it should, contact the clinic rather than skipping to the next one.

Not sure whether a finishing step can start yet? Ask the clinic.

A little clarity before your visit

Your questions, answered.

Helpful details about invisalign in Linden Woods.

Ask our team
Will Invisalign make my teeth look whiter?

No. Aligners change tooth position, not colour. Shade concerns are handled separately, and your dentist can explain the options.

Should I whiten before or after aligner treatment?

That depends on your plan. Ask your dentist about timing, since attachments and other steps may affect the order.

Could bonding or reshaping help after alignment?

Sometimes. Selected tooth edges and shapes can be refined once teeth are in place, when appropriate for your case.

Do attachments match the colour of my teeth?

Attachments are tooth-coloured. Ask how noticeable they’d be in your mouth, as tray edges and attachments can show when you talk.

Might aligners alone give me the look I want?

It’s possible. Once your teeth are examined, your dentist can tell you whether alignment or other care would make the most difference.

Where would Linden Woods residents go to discuss all of this?

Ask through the request form or by calling (204) 338-3003. The conversation about alignment and finishing would happen at Unit 5, 2358 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 4J6.
