A dental implant is placed in the jaw to support a planned crown, bridge or denture. The visible tooth or appliance is a separate restorative component designed after considering gums, bite, spacing and cleaning access.

Treatment timeline
Placement and restoration are separated by biology.
Healing cannot be scheduled like a laboratory step. Timing varies by site, stability, grafting, health and the restorative plan.

Place the implant
The implant is inserted surgically, with grafting when the plan requires it.
Allow integration
Bone heals around the implant while the area is protected and monitored.
Restore and maintain
The abutment and restoration are fitted, followed by hygiene and bite review.

Do I need a bone graft?+
