What might change my bridge plan once treatment starts?+
Findings such as decay under an old filling on an anchor, or a gum or root concern, can alter the design or sequence. Your dentist can tell you which are more likely for you.
What if an anchor tooth is not strong enough?+
Supports must be able to carry chewing forces. If a tooth cannot, your dentist may suggest a different design, implants or another replacement.
Is the temporary bridge part of every plan?+
Not always. A temporary may be used to protect prepared teeth and maintain appearance while the final bridge is fabricated.
Can the final bridge be adjusted at fitting?+
Yes. Contacts, bite, margins, appearance and cleaning access are checked at try-in, and adjustments come before permanent attachment.
Is decay under a bridge possible years later?+
It is. Natural anchors can develop decay at bridge margins at any point, which is why routine examinations continue.
How can Bridgwater residents ask their what-if questions in advance?+
Note them in your request on this page, or call (204) 338-3003. The clinic will respond to set up an assessment where they can be discussed.
