Welcome to Winnipeg North Dental

Your first visit starts with a conversation.

We welcome new patients of all ages—from a child’s first dental visit to adults returning to care after many years. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We’ll listen, explain what to expect and guide you through the next steps.

Whether you have a specific concern or simply want to get your oral health back on track, our role is to help—not to judge.

Care that feels understood

Your first appointment

What can you expect?

Every visit is shaped around your age, symptoms, health history and reason for booking. A new-patient appointment may include the following steps.

01

We get to know you

Tell us about your health, dental history, concerns and what you would like to achieve.

02

A careful assessment

Your visit may include an examination and appropriate diagnostic images based on your needs.

03

A clear explanation

Your dentist reviews the findings and explains which areas are healthy or need attention.

04

Next steps together

When care is recommended, we discuss suitable options, timing and estimated fees.

Not every new-patient visit looks exactly the same. Urgent concerns, children’s appointments and complex needs may follow a different sequence.

Prepare for your visit

A few details help us care for you safely.

Current information helps us create your patient record, understand factors that may affect treatment and make your first appointment run more smoothly.

If another dental clinic has recent records or X-rays, ask our team how they can be transferred before your visit.

Photo identification

Government-issued identification for the patient.

Coverage information

Current insurance, NIHB or CDCP member details.

Medication list

Medications, supplements and known allergies.

Health history

Relevant medical and previous dental information.

Recent records

Dental records or X-rays when they are available.

Your main concern

Symptoms, questions or goals you want to discuss.

Dental anxiety

You are not the only one who feels nervous.

Previous experiences, fear of discomfort, uncertainty or embarrassment can make dental visits difficult. Tell us what you are feeling when you book so we can better support you.

  • Explain each stage before it happens
  • Agree on a signal when you need a pause
  • Take breaks when reasonably possible
  • Begin with a conversation and move at a manageable pace

Children & families

One familiar clinic for the whole family.

Positive early experiences can help children become more comfortable with preventive care. We adapt appointments to your child’s age, development, comfort and cooperation.

Use simple, encouraging language before the visit and avoid promising that nothing will feel unusual. If several family members need appointments, contact us to discuss scheduling options.

Can you direct-bill my insurance?+
